2023 was a year of growth here at TestFit. We’ve been making big updates to our product that are revolutionizing how you approach your feasibility studies.
We've rounded up some interesting numbers to see how our customers are doing with TestFit. Did you know 5.72M parking stalls were automated with TestFit's real-time AI last year? Imagine the countless hours of manual labor saved in parking alone.
With that said, let’s dive into all the improvements we’ve made in 2023!
Planning for Feasibility Studies
Larger Sites for All Typologies
Think big because we’ve increased the site size and geometry limits for all typologies. This includes doubling the site size for both townhomes and industrial developments and more.
TestFit will now automatically solve for multiple buildings on these large sites so you don’t have to manually determine where they go as well.
Data Layers for Site Constraints
We’ve also partnered with ESRI to provide you with site environmental data, including FEMA flood zones and wetlands, right at your fingertips.
Instead of juggling multiple databases, opening separate tabs, or drawing it manually, you can simply turn on a layer to see the site constraints.
But we didn’t stop there. We’ve also added the ability to generate easements automatically from these detailed map data layers. So you can easily make design and financial decisions with these site constraints in mind.
Generating Site Plans
Regions for Mixed-Use Development
Our new regions tool unlocked so much flexibility and customization in mixed-use developments by combining multiple typologies in the same site.
Dependent Fill to Embed Typologies within Each Other
Dependent fill gives you the flexibility to embed different typologies within existing geometry. For example, a garden-style multi-family building can be placed inside the block of low-density housing.
3D Regions for Multi-Use Spaces Vertically
We’ve taken regions to a new dimension—literally! Now, create multi-use spaces at specific heights within a building with 3D regions.
With these new updates, you can design mixed-use buildings easily with our real-time AI, while getting automatic costing and quantity takeoff for each program type or the entire deal.
Editing an AI-Generated Site Plan
According to our latest ROI report, our customers state that TestFit helps them get site planning done 4-10x faster. And now our new UI updates make your feasibility study process even faster.
Editing Features
Real-time Manual Mode
Removing the manual mode is the largest improvement to our UX since the inception of TestFit. This allows you to manually edit the model right within the canvas seamlessly without turning manual mode on and off.
Snaps
We also improved our snapping capability to be much easier to use. You can:
- Toggle snaps on and off
- Control over how aggressive the snapping behavior can be
Pin All
The new pin all feature allows you to easily move and duplicate elements on the site plan. For example, pinning a building will lock all the buildings on the site so the buildings won’t change when you add other elements like ponds or easements.
Multi-Select
Select multiple elements and layers to manipulate them together.
Layer Grouping
Organize different pieces of your site by grouping them into layers on the navtree.
